Sabbatical Interns

Role of a Students as Partners Sabbatical Intern

Each Faculty has at least one Sabbatical Intern. The Sabbaticals are all recent graduates from the University of Manchester and were involved with different elements of Peer Support within their disciplines, therefore they are great at offering advice from their own experiences.

Sabbaticals are in post for one academic year and have a number of roles within the Students as Partners program.

One of the main aspects is assisting with Peer Support. Student Coordinators work closely with Sabbatical Interns at strategic points throughout the year. Their role within Peer Support is to act as point of contact on an institutional level; offering advice and knowledge and the opportunity to draw on their various resources and contacts to develop new ideas for different schemes. Similarly they will share good practice from other schemes and help tailor it to be delivered to the specific needs of each scheme.

Sabbaticals also work on a number of projects on a Faculty level relating to student engagement throughout their time in post. Schools are invited to utilise the Sabbaticals, and the wider Students as Partners programme to engage in student consultation.
